Yoweri Kaguta Museveni

Yoweri Kaguta Museveni, born 15 September 1944, is a Ugandan politician and military officer who has served as the ninth and current president of Uganda since 1986. Born in Ntungamo,

Museveni studied political science at the University of Dar es Salaam where he initiated the University Students African Revolutionary Front. He held posts in transitional government and in 1980 ran for president of Uganda. Museveni and former president Yusuf Lule formed the National Resistance Movement (NRM).
